The number of people using the web for services including book renewals and catalogue inquiries was up by a record 20 per cent [in the past year], with more than 76 million web visits. This trend looks likely to increase as there are plans to remove the need for [library] visits altogether, with the imminent launch of nationwide internet borrowing.”
