Paris’ celebration of the dawn of 1900 attracted 50 million people in seven months and helped shape the present day city. The Royal Academy’s new show will look again at the state of art 100 years ago, and to look at it in the same way that contemporaries saw it at the Exposition Universelle. That is, not yet sorted, winnowed and neatly docketed by generations of art historians.  London Telegraph
