Did The Baroque Cello Not Exist?

The period-performance movement has treated the baroque cello as essentially the same instrument as a modern cello, only with gut strings and lighter “accessories” (bridge, tailpiece). But Sigiswald Kuijken says that “what we today call the baroque cello might be a neologism” – that is to say, it did not exist.”

The Case Of The Fraudulent Ballet Company

It was very obvious to those who came to see the St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre in Tucson last week that what they were seeing was nothing of the kind. Instead, it was a “sound-alike” company of lower quality. “It appears that UAPresents may have been duped and worries that the integrity of the university’s arts presenter could be at stake.”
